Re-envisioning a Sustainable, People’s Industrialisation

The policy brief published by IBON International, written by main authors IBON International, calls for a fundamental restructuring of global South economies. The central message highlights that decades of neoliberal deregulation, privatization, and commodity dependence have hollowed out domestic production and fueled severe inequalities. To achieve genuine self-reliance, the document argues that nations must break away from neocolonial investment patterns and corporate monopolies. It advocates for a re-envisioned industrial policy grounded in people’s rights, democratic development planning, genuine agrarian reform, and technological sovereignty, effectively reclaiming the public sector to fulfill a pro-people, ecologically conscious developmental agenda.
